How much is it to fit lights/ spotlights/ downlights/ chandelier/ pendant?

Apr 26, 2022

As electricians in Reading and surrounding areas, every time we receive a call from potential clients who need an electrician to fit or replace a chandelier, spotlight or downlights and whether or not you want us to supply, it doesn’t have a simple answer.

Our mission is to operate on a high standard while showing transparency, so we are always happy to make a survey on site and provide you with an estimate for your requirements, as we operate an open pricing policy.

To answer this we need to know what you are looking for and what you want to achieve, so there are a lot of questions that need to be answered, and they are basically related to material and labour, so:

  • Do you want to add more electrical points or is it just like for like? It could affect the cost as if you want to add more we need to include new wiring
  • It’s like for like, and it will depend if you are supplying the fitting or we do
  • Does the new light fitting need a special support? One of the benefits of using a professional is that the fixings that may be required e.g. screws are more than likely something that we would have already, so you already save from having to buy a box of them yourself
  • Where new fitting will be installed, they need to be IP rated or not
  • The height is very important. Sometimes we need a special ladder that you might not have.

The best and easiest thing to do is to give us a call or drop us a note on the contact form and we can discuss the best way forward and give you an idea of cost.

If you need any type of lights fitted – spotlights, downlights, indoor or outdoor, then don’t hesitate to give us a call.
